As we head into the fantasy semifinals, Blair and I are changing things up slightly this week. I’m going to write a melded version of the Zero RB Watch and the Zero RB Playbook, while he’s going to provide a deeper look at intriguing DFS options for the big Saturday slate.
Checking back in on the main items from last week’s Playbook:
- Saquon Barkley and J.K. Dobbins both hit, although Barkley is the only one who found the end zone. Dobbins is now leading the league with 245 rushing yards (on a ridiculous 8.8 yards per carry) since his return from IR.
- GLSP was right on Devin Singletary and James Cook. The Buffalo backs cannibalized each other’s touches and lost a receiving score to Nyheim Hines.
- Against Detroit’s suddenly feisty run defense, Zonovan Knight’s hot streak came to an end. He gained a mere 23 yards on 13 attempts and ankle injury limited him to 45% of the snaps.
- D’Onta Foreman and Chuba Hubbard generated 31 EP in Week 14 but managed half that against the Steelers. Pittsburgh gives up few missed tackles, and Carolina couldn’t buck the trend. They failed to force a missed tackle and broke only one on 14 attempts. They posted 1.9 total points on the ground but Hubbard bailed out his managers with a solid receiving day.
At this point in the season, player and stat profiles can provide deep insight into game environments, matchup advantages, and exploitable scenarios. Let’s dive right into the advanced stats and key decisions for Week 16.
