Shawn Siegele dives into the RotoViz tools to break down the biggest storylines from the fantasy semifinals.
Week 16 was a tale of two environments. It was the best of times in dome games, and the worst of times when you found yourself on the wrong end of Mother Nature.
It was also the best of times for many of us at RotoViz, as Conor O’Driscoll qualified two teams for the FFPC Best Ball Tournament finals. He’ll look to go back-to-back after last year’s tournament title. Colm Kelly and I were lucky enough to hit on T.J. Hockenson and three of the four highest-scoring WRs to advance a Jalen Hurts squad in the Superflex version of the tournament.
Of course, that also reminds us of the heartbreak for most Hurts managers, as Gardner Minshew wasn’t an option in many formats. We’re always at the mercy of injuries in fantasy football, but the timing and magnitude has been especially traumatic in 2022. And unfortunate injuries weren’t the only tales of woe this weekend. For a handful of the best players in fantasy, the clock struck midnight a couple weeks too soon.
I’ll have more on redraft, dynasty, best ball, and playoff contests later in the week. Today we peruse the biggest storylines from Week 16.
