The quarterback carousel is in full swing. Someone named Skylar Thompson is leading one of the most exciting offenses in football, and Zach Wilson is Peyton Manning. Just another day in the game of fantasy football where everything goes exactly like we expected. One place we take take solace this week should be the D/ST position where some of the very best starting options of the week will be available in most leagues. As always, if you are the lucky owner of one of the top D/STs, no need to waste FAAB and future capital looking for minor upgrades this week. Please do not drop the San Francisco defense to take advantage of Washington’s matchup with Justin Fields. But for the rest of us, fantasy football is won and lost via the accumulation of small edges. Let’s take a look at where some of those edges are in Week 6.
LOS ANGELES RAMS (AVAILABLE IN 52.8% OF LEAGUES)
A relative no-brainer this week, the Rams take on a Panthers offense which has allowed the second-most points to opposing D/STs in 2022. Although it’s hard to imagine a more fantasy friendly matchup than Baker Mayfield, Carolina will be starting P.J. Walker on Sunday. Numbers don’t tell the whole story trying to predict how a backup QB will perform, but here’s a look at Walker’s career FPOE (a great metric for judging overall passing efficiency):
