Quarterback turnover continues at a brisk rate, offensive line depth is tested around the league, and the Philadelphia Eagles maintain their fantasy dominance. Just as we’re figuring out what to do with certain players, we’ve got whole new groups wearing the same uniforms shoved into action. What lessons can we take from Week 4 to help us find the winners this week at D/ST? Let’s take a look.
THE SHOULD-BE-100%ERS
SAN FRANSISCO 49ers (AVAILABLE IN 10.8% OF LEAGUES)
TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS (AVAILABLE IN 9.2% OF LEAGUES)
Reasonably enough, a prerequisite for most D/STs to be highlighted as a streaming option is that they be occasionally available to stream. Anything less than 100% ownership of the 49ers or Buccaneers defenses though is a travesty. San Francisco’s defense looked like the best in the NFL against the Rams, and have allowed the fewest points to opposing offenses in the NFL this year. Tampa Bay can be forgiven for struggling against Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs last week. They’ve been dominant against lesser competition and find themselves opposite Marcus Mariota this week in a matchup so lopsided it might also be worth stashing Desmond Ridder for Week 6. If you’re in one of the 20% of ESPN leagues where one of them is available, these D/STs may be worth an extra few bucks of your free agent budget.
