The running back dead zone has entered the public consciousness in a big way. An understanding of how to approach the draft once all the top running backs are off the board and exciting wide receivers are still available has become much more widespread. With this greater understanding comes a shift in ADPs.
The Win The Flex tool is uniquely well placed to objectively analyze whether the dead zone still exists. We can also see what it looks like in these new conditions. The app gives us an unbiased look at how many points we can expect from each position by ADP (e.g. how many points can we expect the RB10 by ADP to score). This allows us to chart the comparison between each position.
The comparison between Underdog and the FFPC is particularly interesting because of the differences in lineup and scoring settings. Underdog is half-PPR, but the impact of the third starting wide receiver spot is massive. The FFPC is full PPR but removing the third receiver spot in favor of an additional flex spot goes a long way to offsetting this.
