Just before the NFL Draft, I wrote about Allen Robinson’s quarterback upgrade and what it meant for his 2022 outlook. At that time, Robinson was going in late Round 6 or early Round 7. At that cost I was not really drafting him, which was a mistake on my part because, looking back, it was obvious his cost was going to rise. Robinson is now a late-fourth- or early-fifth-round pick. The opportunity cost to acquire Robinson is quite large given all the question marks he faces.
Yet Robinson has some upside and can pay off at ADP, but we can also find some cheaper ways to make this bet and mitigate our risk. All three options below come at substantially cheaper cost and allow for more flexibility based on how you are building for that particular draft.
