The Titans made a splash Thursday night by trading former Round 2 pick A.J. Brown to the Eagles in exchange for the 18th and 102nd pick. The team turned around and drafted Treylon Burks who many believe can be a one-for-one replacement. He’s an imposing specimen but can he be as special as Brown?
There’s no way around it, the Titans believe that Treylon Burks is special and figure to instantly move him into the A.J. Brown role. Tennessee added Robert Woods earlier in the offseason but Burks should easily crest 100 targets in his rookie season. In 2021, Brown drew 7.9 targets per game. In a 16 game season, this would equate to 126 targets. Behind Burks and Woods, the Titans have Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, Dez Fitzpatrick, Racy McMath, and Cody Hollister at WR. The volume should be there in a capable offense but can Burks deliver?
