In this weekly article, Bjorn Yang-Vaernet uses the Advanced Stat Explorer and other RotoViz tools to dive deep into wide receiver usage trends. Usage is key for making waiver wire adds, start/sit decisions, and finding the next blow-up WR in DFS.
Welcome to playoff week! This is the first week of playoffs for many leagues and the first round for large field best ball tournaments. This is where the fantasy season gets fun. However, I hope COVID-19 doesn’t get in the way of what should be the best time of the year for fantasy and real life football.[1]The Browns are basically playing with their second string offense and Nick Chubb on Saturday in a must-win game.
The #Browns currently have 17 players and 2 coaches on the COVID list. List is so long it won't fit in a tweet. pic.twitter.com/2ryDxKCV6W

I apologize in advance if some of the players mentioned in the column are suddenly ruled out, making the blurb less useful. Unfortunately, this is just the world we are living in today. On the bright side, coexisting with the virus is better than having no NFL games to analyze and obsess over. With that, let’s dig into the metrics heading into Week 15.
Routes Run and Targets per Route
Routes run is the first key statistic I’ll focus on because WRs need to be on the field to produce. The second statistic is routes per target. Unlike RBs usage, targets are earned as a WR and routes per target is a helpful measure in figuring out which players are good (or which players coaches want to get the ball to).
