Wide Receivers With Positive Matchups – Week 17
The Saints’ defense has become a harder matchup for opposing WRs in recent weeks, but that shouldn’t stop D.J. Moore from having a solid outing. The fourth-year receiver’s season can be divided into three sections. While he hasn’t been stellar with Cam Newton under center for Carolina, he has recovered from a mid-season lull.
The Saints will attempt to stop Moore with a mixture of coverage from Marshon Lattimore and Paulson Adebo. When the teams met earlier in the season, Moore caught all six of his targets that were covered by Adebo. He scored 17.4 points on these targets. Moore has been most successful this season on intermediate routes run to the left side of the formation — an area of the field that the Saints have struggled to adequately cover.
