Week 10 offered another crazy mix of fireworks, upsets, and blowouts. We also got a return to normal with Kansas City and Buffalo cresting 40 points and the Detroit Lions demonstrating that sometimes you have to walk before you can run.
It was another great week for our priority early RBs, with Jonathan Taylor and D’Andre Swift again looking like stars (although a late drop and overall inefficiency left Swift with a disappointing receiving line). Christian McCaffrey returned to form with 10 receptions and Ezekiel Elliott benefitted from a furious Dallas attack, scoring twice. All of them were upstaged as the headlines were again of the Zero RB variety.
Cordarrelle Patterson departed early and will miss Week 11 with an ankle sprain, temporarily derailing 2021’s best story, but it wasn’t all bad news. Rhamondre Stevenson and A.J. Dillon each topped 25 points and looked like stars of the future.
Ben Gretch and I had a blast with last night’s Stealing Bananas, discussing CeeDee Lamb’s push to join Ja’Marr Chase in the dynasty WR1 debate, the Patriots’ surge to rejoin the AFC elite, and Stefon Diggs’ play as the catalyst for Buffalo’s bounceback.
Even with those topics off the table, this is one of the longest Monday articles of the year. Let’s dive into it.
