The hit rate for players in the final few rounds is extremely low, but that doesn’t make them less important for your overall build. Conor O’Driscoll explains how to take advantage of your last picks and provides key player targets for the end of your draft.
RotoViz spends a lot of time on late-round tactics and player selection. Zachary Krueger recently wrote about the importance of Reverse Drafting your league – essentially building your roster from the back to the front. Shawn Siegele provided his Zero RB Deep Watch List filled with RB targets late.
That doesn’t mean your leaguemates are taking advantage or that they’re using the right structure to benefit. In redraft, we want to know quickly which of our players have value. As late-round picks are less likely to succeed than earlier picks, we should prioritize players where we know immediately after Week 1 whether they have value or not. This helps us avoid having low-value players clogging our roster for weeks and allows us more opportunity to churn so that we can maximize the benefits of the waiver wire. This is also an underrated strength of heavy early wide receiver builds, as running backs typically fit this profile better than receivers do.
Today, I’m looking at RBs who could transform your team late.
