This is Sleepers Week on Stealing Bananas. Ben Gretch and I are looking at how to find them, what their impact is, and which targets we’re drafting in 2021.
One element that I mention on the show but wanted to explore in more detail: how to use our tools to find past sleepers and how to use our research to find the next group of league-winning stars.
In this exercise, I’m using the Best Ball Win Rate Explorer to discuss the 26 players from the last six years who were drafted outside the first 100 picks and went on to score at least 150 points and post a win rate above 15%. I’ll also use the RotoViz Screener to take a deeper look at the 22 players this century who were drafted outside the first 100 picks in the reality draft and made the jump from fewer than 50 points to more than 200 points in a single season.
