Michael Dubner gives you a peak behind the curtain into his DraftKings Best Ball Tournament player ownership.
After 65 completed drafts, I’m almost midway through max entering the DraftKings Best Ball Tournament. Now is a good opportunity to evaluate my player ownership to see if there’s anything I need to adjust in August over the second half of my portfolio. While the optimal draft month is a controversial topic, I prefer to draft throughout the entire offseason with a slightly higher percentage of drafts coming closer to Week 1.
I try to not let my #portfolio influence my drafting decisions too much while on the clock, assuming that things will eventually smooth out to where I want them over a large enough sample. But I do try to analyze my exposures every so often just to make sure nothing is getting too far out of line. I believe my edge is largely within roster construction, so I try to focus on honing in on maximizing my roster construction edge while diversifying my player ownership around that. There are certainly specific scenarios where I’m willing to go extremely overweight or underweight on a player, but for the majority of players I try to just scoop up value.
For those asking, DraftKings does not automatically track player ownership, so I had to do it manually.
The below ownership percentages are only from my 65 DraftKings Best Ball Tournaments. They do not include ownership percentages from my 175 Drafters and 25 Underdog drafts.
