If the tales of various former scouts and front office executives are to be believed, every year during the NFL Draft there will come a time when an evaluator will vigorously champion the cause for a player he dearly wants the team to draft. Often these incidents occur late in the draft after the obvious blue chippers have all been taken. But the scouts, people who have dedicated many hours of their life to watching these players, know what they know. They want their team to draft that player. They then “pound the table” to make the case.
I’m sure this is exactly what happens in the draft rooms across the NFL.
In keeping with this theme, the writers at RotoViz sat around a metaphorical table and made our cases for an under-the-radar rookie we think could make some noise in 2021. If you want some discussion about Ja’Marr Chase or Kyle Pitts, this is not the article for you. But if you are looking for players to target late in drafts, then pull up a chair. Let the table-pounding commence.
