QB rankings and streaming advice for Week 10 of the 2020 fantasy football season.
Week 9 brought us a couple new faces in the quarterback starting roles which made for some impressive football.
Starting for Jacksonville on Sunday, Jake Luton threw a 75-yard touchdown on the second play of the game. He finished the day as the ninth quarterback in history to throw 300-plus yards and a touchdown in his NFL debut. Luton is the expected starter for Week 10 against the Packers while Gardner Minshew continues to heal a thumb fracture and strained ligament, though there is no guarantee Minshew would assume the starting role when healthy if Luton continues to produce.
Garret Gilbert — the fourth quarterback to start for the Cowboys this season — came close to defeating the 7-0 Steelers on Sunday while seemingly revitalizing the Cowboys offense, even for just a half, with 243 yards and a touchdown. Regardless of Gilbert’s performance, Jerry Jones has already confirmed Andy Dalton will return under center when available.
And though he’s not a brand new face for the Broncos, Drew Lock became the first Broncos player to throw three touchdowns in a fourth quarter win since Peyton Manning in 2013.
As for my picks, Kirk Cousins gave one of his best fantasy performances of the season with 220 passing yards and three touchdowns and Derek Carr had a modest comeback with a multi-touchdown performance though under 200 passing yards. Unfortunately, Kyle Allen suffered a gruesome ankle injury in the first quarter on Sunday and was quickly diagnosed with a dislocated ankle. He will undergo surgery and is out for the season. Alex Smith will be Washington’s starting quarterback moving forward with Dwayne Haskins as the backup.
