Key Injuries
Devonta Freeman is the most significant injury on the Giants side. Freeman has played the lion’s share of the snaps since joining NYG. Look for Wayne Gallman and Dion Lewis to see expanded roles. Getting these two RBs right in builds could make or break the slate.
Chris Godwin has already been ruled out. The Buccaneers have a slew of receivers that could see expanded usage, including but not limited to: Mike Evans, Scotty Miller, and Tyler Johnson.
Pace and Play Calling Tendencies
Both teams are averaging around 27 seconds per play in neutral game scripts, which is higher than average. Tampa Bay is one of just eight teams that is opting to pass on at least 60% of their plays this year. The Giants are right outside that zone with a 59% pass rate in neutral situations. Rushing yards have been hard to come by against TBs defense, which leads me to believe there should be a lot of throwing in this affair.
