Yesterday, we crafted a 4-Step Plan to Dominate with an RB-RB approach in 2020. But does that plan work from every draft slot?
If you have a late pick in 2020 drafts, you’re playing from behind. This is fairly intuitive as you won’t have a shot at players like Christian McCaffrey and Michael Thomas. You won’t be able to select any member of the Big 5 at running back, and you may not even have a chance at Clyde Edwards-Helaire. It feels worse drafting late this year, and that’s not a good sign since it’s been consistently terrible in the past.
These are the Fanball results from 2015 to 2019.[1]I’ll be using Fanball for a format-neutral result that should fit with ADP for our ESPN readers and Apex fans, but you get similar results for FFPC. The top four slots are ideal, the next four are workable, and the last four are disastrous. In order to combat this problem, those of us who receive poor draft slots must come up with an aggressive, creative, and evidence-based plan of attack if we want to be competitive.
This is that plan.
