In The Ultimate 2020 Fantasy Football Sleepers List – Tight Ends, Curtis Patrick shares his top late-round targets who could pop this NFL Season.
Last week, I released my Ultimate 2020 Fantasy Football Sleepers List – Running Back edition.
Ultimate Sleepers at RB had to meet the following criteria:
- must have an overall ADP outside the top-180
- must have a positional ADP outside the top-60
The strategic thinking behind drafting sleeper running backs involves having the likely breakout waiver wire players already on your roster, stashed safely on your bench. We are also fortunate enough to have a sneaky RB2/flex play being drafted outside those ranges, and he was named my King Sleeper for 2020.
Tight ends are a little different.
First, in a typical redraft format, we are only going 15 or 16 rounds deep. I really don’t want you loading up on a third TE on the hopes he breaks out. The roster spots are too precious.
So, before I give you my TE sleepers list, let me share how I’m defining TE sleepers so we can be on the same page. These are players being drafted as low-end TE2s or TE3s that I think won’t just outperform their ADP, but have projectable paths to top-12 TE upside. The criteria:
- must have an overall ADP outside the top-120
- must have a positional ADP outside the top-18
These criteria typically go hand in hand, but listing them both makes me feel extra sure we’re on the same page.
I’m using FFPC Best Ball ADP. Outside the top-18 status is going to put us past the 10th round of any typical 12-team draft, though. Also, this isn’t one of those articles where I’m going to add a bunch of names at the end of the article without any context and say “other guys I like” just so I can say I mentioned them and victory lap at the end of the year. I’ve got three early-career tight ends for you, including one who I think is a potential league winner. Here we go … it’s time for my Ultimate 2020 Fantasy Football Sleepers List at the TE position.
