Not every running back has the fortune of signing a big second contract like Ezekiel Elliott did last year. In fact, many teams have adopted the popular notion that #runningbacksdontmatter. Instead of investing heavily in the position, they bring in a new young rookie to become the heir apparent. With the 2020 NFL Draft behind us and a clear outlook of which teams prioritized the RB position, we can begin to speculate on what might happen.
In dynasty, it is important to not merely draft for this season but to look with an eye to the future. Here are the RBs on the final year of their contract and the rookies that have been brought in, potentially, to replace them.
