Last off season I wrote a series on Positional Rankings. The series reviewed the top scoring PPR finishes going back to 2000. The original intention was to find patterns that could assist in assessing dynasty assets. I wanted a simpler way to finding building blocks that didn’t involve projecting stats for several years. Don’t write this off as strictly a dynasty article though. If you studied these grids prior to last season, you might have noticed Jeremy Maclin and Mike Wallace presented great value in 2014.
The PR grids can answer a lot of questions that straight statistics will not. Which players performed the best consistently year after year? Which 30+ year old players have posted top 24 seasons? Are rookies likely to place? Quarterbacks and/or play calling can be correlated with the top 24 WRs.
