A year ago Mr. Fantasy Douche wrote an article asking Why are pro day 40 times faster than Combine 40 times? which prompted me to wonder about the reliability of 40 times in general. At the Combine, we know they’re electronically timed, so that helps remove some of the human error, but we don’t have the same luxury at pro days. It is my understanding that at pro days the process works something like this: scouts use stop watches, compare notes and then reach a consensus time that the media publishes. That sounds dicey to me.
