How to Create League-Winning Scenarios in the MFL10 of Death

The 2018 MFL10 of Death took place last week. The brainchild of Pat Thorman, it features a Who’s Who of the top fantasy experts, including Charles Kleinheksel, Denny Carter, J.J. Zachariason, Mike Clay, Rumford Johnny, Ryan Forbes, Rich Hribar, Sigmund Bloom, Raymond Summerlin, and Scott Barrett. Fortune has favored RotoViz, with Charlie taking down the inaugural title and your author sneaking out first place in 2015 and 2017. I’d like to think this is the result of the research, simulations, apps, and strategy articles on the site. And it probably is at least a little bit of that. But the fantasy gods have also smiled on us. In this piece, I’ll look at why Zero RB has resulted in 1-2-1 finishes for me over the last three years, explore the best moves for 2018, and try to keep the fickle gods smiling. In Part 2, I’ll look at how I attempted to employ these principles in the 2018 edition.
