Late Round Boom/Bust Candidates for Best Ball

For the last two seasons, I’ve identified late-round options in best ball leagues with week-winning potential. My 2016 results were successful in identifying options at quarterback, running back, and wide receiver, with the only notable miss at tight end. In 2017, I prepared the article early in the offseason and presented several virtually free options who we went on to be strong best-ball contributors (Marqise Lee and Jason Witten). This season’s approach will be even better as we begin today with the Part 1 and later follow up with updates after the NFL draft and prior to training camp. We’ll also look at separate options for Fanball MFL10s and FFPC.1 As it has been the last two years, the criteria for these players will be:
  • ADP outside of the top 150.
  • Likelihood for starter-worthy production.
Early-season ADP is highly variable as compared to later drafts when true draft positions have been established. But finding undervalued assets in the early drafts can be a profitable venture.
  1. If PlayDraft ADP data becomes readily available throughout the off-season, an option will be provided there, as well.  (back)
