2018 NFL Draft Prospect: Deon Cain

On January 1st, Deon Cain and the Clemson Tigers will take on the Alabama Crimson Tide in the first game of the College Football Playoff. It’ll be the third straight year the two teams meet in the playoffs. After catching five passes for 94 yards against Alabama a year ago, Cain will look to have a statement game to boost his stock.

As a Recruit

In high school Cain played quarterback and primarily functioned as a read option threat. He rushed for 1,892 yards and 19 touchdowns while also passing for just over 1,000 yards. He moved to wide receiver once he signed with Clemson and has done an admirable job of adjusting to the position. Cain was a five-star recruit who was the No. 18 overall player in the country and the No. 2 receiver behind Calvin Ridley. At Nike’s the Opening, he put up the following numbers in athletic testing:
