Jay Ajayi Is An Interesting Fit in Philadelphia

If you have but one ambition during your time on this mortal coil, it should be to find someone who loves you as much as Eagles GM Howie Roseman loves making trades. On Tuesday, he was at it again, sending one of the team’s fourth-round picks in 2018 to the Miami Dolphins for running back Jay Ajayi. The London-born back seemed to have fallen out of favor with Dolphins coach Adam Gase, who criticized his starter for “trying to hit home runs all the time” after their loss to the Ravens last Thursday. In a press conference following the trade, Roseman spoke of how Ajayi will be part of the platoon that the Eagles have at RB, with LeGarrette Blount remaining the starter. It seems a tad unlikely, but the Eagles have presented something of a mystery with regards their tailbacks ever since the draft. The team went into the season with Blount, Wendell Smallwood, Darren Sproles, Donnel Pumphrey and Corey Clement on the active roster. Sproles and Pumphrey have since landed on IR, with Kenjon Barner re-signing after the Sproles injury. Here, we take a look at the fit, and the fantasy outlook for Ajayi moving forward.
