Tyreek Hill is a 2017 Landmine You Need to Avoid

Every year there are players that fall into our lap as apparent values. Perhaps their situation has changed, or they were impressive in a small sample the prior year. Tyreek Hill is one of those players. Now that the Chiefs have cut Jeremy Maclin, he seems destined for a big year after being the WR12 over the second half of 2016. However, not everything is as it seems. Hill is a player you need to avoid in 2017.

  1. Nice article, Anthony. My eyeballs tell me to avoid Tyreek Hill this season, but it's nice to see someone put some analysis into it.

The Cordarelle Patterson comparison is spot-on, IMO. I remember thinking he was absurdly overvalued that one year he snuck into the 4th/5th. (2 years ago?) The thing with these guys is I don't see any real WR skills that tell me they will be able to continue to get open and make catches consistently going forward. Percy Harvin is really the one comparable I see who has had success in the NFL, and as I glance at his career stats now, his success wasn't even that impressive or sustained. (Never had a 1000-yard season.)
