Daily Fantasy Basketball Plays of the Day for Friday, April 21

With Round 1 of the NBA playoffs in full swing, we come to realize the opportunity for variance in daily fantasy basketball is not what it was during the regular season. We saw this as over 300 people finished with the exact same score the other night to split up $100,000. This is because there are less games and a smaller player pool to choose from. This also happens because your stars play more minutes and you have to lean on the higher salary players. Not to mention, teams typically play at a more elite level. Wait, what? Yes, I know guys like Russell Westbrook and James Harden have been doing it all season from a fantasy perspective. However, as a whole, teams typically buckle down more in the playoffs. Scores are typically not as high as we see in the regular season. This is because you are not seeing games on the slate where Cleveland is taking on the New Jersey Nets. For this reason, finding the right guys to play with the superstars is key.  As we look at the slate, we have three games to choose from and we have to decide between Russell Westbrook or James Harden. Or, do you go more balanced and play guys like Jimmy Butler and Isaiah Thomas? Personally, I’d make at least three lineups tonight. I’d have one featuring Westbrook, one featuring Harden and then a more balanced approach. If you want to make more than three lineups, I’d still use those three to build around. Mix it up with the value plays in hopes one of your lineups stand out over everyone else’s. This article will be somewhat short, but let us dive in, shall we?
