Jordan Howard, Tyler Ervin, and the RB Goldilocks Zone

During the NFL Draft, San Jose State product Tyler Ervin was selected with the 119th pick. Last season Ervin gained over 1,900 yards from scrimmage, scored 15 touchdowns, and caught 45 passes. He ran a 4.41 forty and jumped 40.5 inches to be a clear combine winner. Indiana prospect Jordan Howard was drafted with the 150th pick. He gained 1319 yards from scrimmage, scored 10 TDs, and caught 11 passes. He opted not to perform at the combine before disappointing at his pro day. By almost any account, Ervin is an excellent prospect, yet Howard is going much earlier in all formats.
