NASCAR Chase Bracket Challenge – Win a Lifetime Subscription to RotoViz NASCAR and NFL Content!

Today RotoViz and the NASCAR co-hosts of On the Daily, Matthew Freedman and RotoDoc, are excited to give you the chance to win a lifetime subscription to the NASCAR and NFL content we provide here at RotoViz. In conjunction with the NASCAR Chase for the Sprint Cup starting with this Sunday’s race at Chicagoland Speedway, we’re running our NASCAR Chase Bracket Challenge, an NCAA bracket style competition where you try to correctly predict how far each driver advances in the chase. The grand prize is a lifetime subscription to RotoViz’s NASCAR and NFL content. Get a perfect bracket and we’ll throw in $100 bucks! Entry details and rules are outlined below.

How to Enter

  1. Download and fill out the attached spreadsheet at the bottom of this article.
  2. Fill in an entry name (for example, twitter handle, or whatever you want your entry to be called on the internet when we post standings updates) in the space allotted on the page. Failure to do so will result in disqualification. Keep the names clean – failure to do so will result in you being ineligible for a prize. This comes at the sole discretion of RotoViz.
  3. Use the drop-down boxes to select 12 of the 16 drivers to advance to the Contender Round.
  4. Use the drop-down boxes to select select 8 of those 12 drivers to advance to the Eliminator Round.
  5. Use the drop-down boxes to select select 4 of those drivers to advance to the Championship Round at Homestead-Miami Speedway and place those four drivers in order of how you think they will finish relative to each other at Homestead.
  6. Submit your form via email to OnTheDailyDFS@gmail.com – the email address that you send the form from will be the email address we contact you through in case you win!

  5. Entries must be submitted to OnTheDailyDFS@gmail.com by the time lineups lock on DraftKings for the first race of the chase, this Sunday September 20th, at 3pm ET.
  6. If you submit entries above your allotted limit, only most recent entries up to your entry limit will be considered. For example, if you are eligible for 2 entries, and you submit 5, only the two entries closest in time to the deadline will be counted for scoring.

Scoring Rules

Scoring will be as follows:

  1. For every driver you correctly pick to advance to the Contender Round, you will get 16 points.
  2. You will also get bonus points equal to the driver’s seed for correctly picking him to advance to the Contender Round. For example, Jamie McMurray is seeded 12th, and if you pick him to advance to the Contender Round and he does, you will get 16 points for the correct pick, plus an additional 12 bonus points for his seed.
  3. For every driver you correctly pick to advance to the Eliminator Round, you will get 32 points.
  4. You will also get bonus points equal to the driver’s seed for correctly picking him to advance to the Eliminator Round.
  5. For every driver you correctly pick to advance to the Championship Round, you will get 64 points.
  6. In the Championship Round if you:
    • Pick the correct champion, you will get an additional 64 points
    • Pick the correct runner-up, you will get an additional 32 points
    • Pick the correct 3rd place driver, you will get and additional 16 points
    • Pick the correct 4th place driver, you will get an additional 16 points
  7. Seeds will not be factored into the Championship Round
  8. You may only pick a driver to advance to a subsequent round if you have him in a prior round. For example, you may not pick Ryan Newman to advance to the Eliminator Round if you did not pick him to advance to the Contender Round.
  9. You may only pick a driver to advance to a particular round once. For example, you may not fill in two of the Contender Round slots with Jeff Gordon.
  10. Any entries that do not adhere to the above rules will be disqualified.

Prizes

  • The grand prize will be a lifetime subscription to RotoViz’s NASCAR and NFL content.
  • For a perfect bracket, RotoViz will throw in an additional $100!
  • Tiebreakers will be determined by the timing of the entry submission. Whichever entry is submitted first will win the tiebreaker.
  • The runner-up will receive a 1-year subscription to their choice of either RotoViz’s NASCAR content or NFL content.
  • Winners will be contacted through the email in which they submitted their entry.
  • All decisions will be made at RotoViz’s discretion and will be final.

NASCAR Chase Format

Everything you need to know about how the NASCAR Chase Format works you can find here. To put it simply, there are three races each round prior to the Championship Round. A driver may advance to the next round by winning one of the three races. The remaining advancement slots are filled by the point standings after the three races. The points are reset at the beginning of each round, with each driver still eligible for the Championship starting with 2000 points in the Challenger Round, 3000 points in the Contender Round, 4000 points in the Eliminator Round, and 5000 points in the Championship Round. The Championship Round determines the top four drivers in the NASCAR Chase for the Sprint Cup, and only a driver’s finishing position relative to the other eligible drivers in the race at Homestead-Miami Speedway matters when determining the order of the final four. The races for each round are as follows:

  • Challenger Round – Chicagoland, New Hampshire, Dover
  • Contender Round – Charlotte, Kansas, Talladega
  • Eliminator Round – Martinsville, Texas, Phoenix
  • Championship Round – Homestead

I highly suggest using our NASCAR Splits App to forecast which drivers will perform well at the tracks that NASCAR will race at in each round. Click here for a primer on how to use the NASCAR Splits App.

I will have updated results after each round posted to RotoViz. Good luck to everyone!
