Julian Edelman is a High Floor Receiver – Or is he?

While gearing up for the 2015 fantasy football season, you will inevitably see the terms High Floor and Boom/Bust in reference to particular players.  Which type of player you are drafting can be useful information as you build your roster.  Two players with the same total points over a season can influence your week-to-week performance in very different ways.

Consider the case of Rueben Randle and Dwayne Bowe.  Over the past two seasons, Randle has averaged 10.0 points per game (PPR) and Bowe has averaged a very close 9.7 points, but how they got those points could not be more different.  The chart below looks at the distribution of each receiver’s weekly results.
