In this weekly StarStreet value report, we’ll take a look at values by comparing a player’s FantasyPros Expert Consensus Ranking (ECR) to their salary rank. For instance, if Tom Brady is the 3rd overall quarterback according to ECR, but he’s ranked 10th in salary, there’s potentially a value there. I’ll dig deeper, looking at the matchup and the players historical performance through the lense of our GLSP projections and recommend a value/pass grade. In the end, it’s up to you to pick which players to play. Is Aaron Rodgers technically a value if he’s 2nd in ECR but 5th in salary? Yes, but Matthew Stafford might be 5th in ECR and ranked 14th in salary and is the better play.

As always, don’t forget to diversify your lineups, and remember to always play within your means. Be sure to check out our StarStreet Lineup Dominator app to see how these players fit into your weekly strategy. You can sign up for StarStreet here.

Name ECR Salary Rank Difference Salary POS Comments Value
Andre Brown 8 14.5 -6.5 $11,500 RB Since coming off short-term IR, Brown has been a true workhorse averaging 23.5 touches per game. The Chargers are giving 4.9 yards per carry to opposing running backs, only slightly less awful than the 5 yards per carry the Bears are conceding. Brown’s floor is an RB2 today according to GLSP, so getting him at that price is a bargain. Value
Maurice Jones-Drew 15 30 -15 $10,300 RB MJD has somehow morphed into a legit RB2 over the last month, despite a terrible start to the fantasy season. MJD has posted good games against better running defenses than Houston this year. RB30 is a steal. Value
Shane Vereen 16 22 -6 $10,800 RB Vereen has been targeted 28 times the last 3 weeks, while seeing 21 carries. His game against Houston could have been bigger, but he failed to punch in his end zone carry. The Browns have one of the better rush defenses in the league, but most of Vereen’s value comes from his receiving prowess. Value
Ray Rice 17 22 -5 $10,800 RB Rice has had 2 good games this season: against the Dolphins and against the Bears. The Vikings rank between the two of those in terms of giving up yards per carry. I think you have to get Rice into your lineups this week because the odds are stacked in favor of a top 12 week. GLSP backs this up, giving Rice a high 15.4 median projection this Sunday. Value
Bobby Rainey 19 37.5 -18.5 $9,600 RB Rainey’s last 2 weeks have been underwhelming; not exactly surprising given that he’s played 2 top 10 run defenses in Detroit and Carolina. The Bucs face the Bills, who are giving up 4.2 yards per carry and 121.5 rushing yards per game. Value
Steven Jackson 21 35 -14 $9,700 RB You have to be careful with Jackson, because if he doesn’t score, you’re left with 60-80 yards rushing and a couple of catches. Game flow will likely benefit the Falcons in this game, and Green Bay is one of the worst teams against the run. Value
Larry Fitzgerald 13 17 -4 $11,600 WR The St. Louis pass defense is suspect, but this is fair value. Push
Keenan Allen 15 21.5 -6.5 $10,900 WR This price seems like fair value for Allen. The Giants pass defense has been very good this season (doesn’t that seem weird to say!), and they only give up 6.7 yards per attempt and 224 yards per game. Push
Kendall Wright 23 26 -3 $10,500 WR Wright is as steady as they come, with only 1 game below 10 points since week 2. His price doesn’t make him a value, but he’s attractive as a less volatile option at WR. Push
Cecil Shorts 28 57 -29 $9,100 WR Shorts’ floor (9.4) is high, and his ceiling (18.2) isn’t too bad either. He’s an easy value at this price. Value
Jason Witten 3 9 -6 $9,500 TE Jason Witten, Tony Gonzalez, and Greg Olsen all have similar prices and GLSP projections. You can play any of them and expect the same low floor and middling ceiling. I’d much rather pay for Gronk, or go low cost with Graham or Cook this week. Pass
Tony Gonzalez 4 12 -8 $9,300 TE See above comments. Pass
Greg Olsen 7 10.5 -3.5 $9,400 TE See above comments. Pass
Garrett Graham 9 16 -7 $9,000 TE Playing Graham this week just comes down to buying targets against a shitty defense. Where else can you get a player who’s been targeted 11 times per game over the last 3 weeks for this cheap? Value
Jordan Reed 11 25.5 -14.5 $8,200 TE If Reed was healthy, I think he’d be a huge value. He’s the type of athletic tight end that’s beat Kansas City this season. Reed missed practice Wednesday, but we should hear by Friday if he’s ready to go or not. Value
Delanie Walker 12 14.5 -2.5 $9,100 TE No discount. Push
Jared Cook 14 17.5 -3.5 $8,900 TE Arizona has absolutely been destroyed by athletic tight ends this season. It feels wrong and dirty, but how is Cook not a top 5 tight end this week? Value
Nick Foles 3 6 -3 $12,700 QB I love Nick Foles this week (every week?) in a matchup that should be pass, pass, and more pass. The Lions average something like 400 quadrillion passes per game, and the Eagles will have to keep pace if they want to win. This isn’t a value, but he’s a player to get into your lineups. Push
Matt Ryan 9 21 -12 $11,200 QB I usually go cheap quarterback on StarStreet, and Ryan fits with that strategy. The Green Bay pass defense is bottom 4 in the league, and if Joe Flacco can put up 20 points against them so can Matt Ryan. Value
Philip Rivers 10 17.5 -7.5 $11,500 QB As mentioned earlier, the Giants have not been kind to quarterbacks this year. I wouldn’t have Rivers in my lineups this week, there are better, cheaper options out there. Pass
