Draft Grades – New Orleans Saints

No. 7 New Orleans Saints                                            Grade: A-

Mickey Loomis has overseen a quick deterioration of their Super Bowl roster, but this draft may get the Saints back on track. With limited picks in the wake of bad trades and scandals, he used what remained wisely. Kenny Vaccarro should start the healing on a shell-shocked defense. He’ll be the first DB off the board in most IDP formats.

New Orleans has turned conventional wisdom on its head by building their offensive line from the inside out. Jermon Bushrod and Zach Strief are replacement level players who bookended the elite trio of De La Puente, Grubbs, and Evans. With Bushrod gone to Chicago, Terron Armstead has a shot to win the left tackle job in camp. The Arkansas-Pine Bluff prospect sports elite athleticism and was an excellent marriage of need and value.

Dynasty owners who were rostering Joseph Morgan and Nick Toon now have to make a decision on Kenny Stills. Although not an elite prospect, he’s better than a lot of the guys who were going rounds earlier.
